Citrix receiver freezing

All pages. Symptom A user tries to log out from a Citrix session but the session does not respond. OR Troubleshoot the issue with your Citrix infrastructure to discover why the session is not closing when the wfica process makes the call for disconnection. Workaround As a less recommended alternative, you can configure a hotkey to force a logout in such situations. Click to create a new Custom Application and name it e. When this happens multiple times daily for me , I've found you can Middle-Click, Right-Click, Left-Click in the frozen window and it will unfreeze.

Worth trying to see if it helps. Thanks for your reply. I will instruct the users to try this for sure instead of forcing a restart by the power button. I'm trying to find out if this is happening also to users that owns the latest Windows update 20H2 and also I realised that it is not happening to users with old Citrix Workspace versions like Citrix Receiver 4. We have the same issue with all the computers W10 after update to 20H2 or newer.

We detect other requeriment: if user connect directly to a Storefront VDI works fine but if user connect through NS-Storefront the problem appear very 5 minutes. But the reg entry to disable the hardware acceleration sure worked for us in a majority of cases.

We had a monitoring detection for user initiated citrix client resets.. But at least reporting if that setting fixes your issues, will bring their attention and priorities toward it. There is also another request in for adding the hardware acceleration setting to the advanced settings within the client tray and installer. You will be able to leave a comment after signing in. A high load will cause the same symptom as you have. Would you suspect the CPU on the individual server or on the connection broker although this is affecting servers where we have gone in directly to the IP address too. Have you looked at it related to latency and packet loss?

That's what I would suspect. Yes, I've looked at latency and packet loss this is just using a ping tool pinginfoview , pinging every second. Is there a more accurate tool I could use? Show 2 more comments. Sorted by: Reset to default.

A Combination of factors could be causing the issue: Missing Microsoft Hotfixes for RDS on R2 servers being one of them Application has a lot of printing calls that can affect performance on the SVDA which could cause momentary freezing Application may need the full Explorer.

Recommended Hotfixes for XenApp 7. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system.

For instance, if you find that after a failure occurs the break is reporting in logs for test 1 and 2, but 3 and 4 shows fine, then you know that the issue is somewhere before the remote site, but after the device selected at your near site. Thanks for that I'll test it tomorrow. I've been testing it on my Windows 8. Is it a compatibility issue or have i got the syntax wrong. When sessions go over the internet, there was continuous Session hangs, and reconnects.

Now clients when on the network go through internal LAN, and there are Zero issues with connectivity. HI, thanks for your input ahaahalt and dyryet. I've been monitoring this for two days with fping and procexplore by sysinternals. I've not seen any evidence that points to a local server issue or network issue. I ran pings for two days from the troublesome citrix server to local DG, DNS server, Firewall, remote, Remote gateway and to the client.

None of the pings showed any loss. I do need to re examine for high latency. I will investigate this further.

If it was an issue with the CSG then wouldn't that effect everyone we have many sites and not just one? I don't think this effects all the users, just ones at a particular remote site connecting over mpls. Correct, if you're confident that it's only that single site then focus on that sites connection. Look for latency issues, packet loss, etc.

All clients at that site have the issue maybe a few don't? Ensure you're fpinging to a client that has complained, could be a faulty cable or switch at site and if you aren't going through it then you might not see the failure when they do.

I would disable Session Reliability to see if there is any change. In older versions it sometimes caused more issues then it fixed. Hi, thanks, I can't figure this one out so i'm moving the app to servers which aren't effected, i'll see how this goes tomorrow.

Im not sure if metaframe is fully patched. Additionally the new servers i published this app out too have the same symptoms as the original servers, so this isn't server specific, it seems to happen to them all. While writing this I thought that I can also raise this with the 3rd party that support the website they're accessing.
